Suicide is the second leading cause of death between ages 15-24 and it is preventable! You can be an everyday hero in the fight against suicide!! Funds raised from the Out of the Darkness FGCU Campus Walk allows the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to fund research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Each year, suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined. Yet suicide prevention doesn’t receive anywhere near the funding as other leading causes of death. It’s up to Walkers like us to make a difference. Together we can change the conversation about mental health and put a stop to this tragic loss of life.
